Market Field School

Elmstead Market, Essex

This first floor class base extension was constructed using structural steel framing (with exposed padded steel stilts to provide covered activity space underneath), secondary framing system finished externally with zinc cladding and curtain walling.

Working closely with Market Field School which remained live throughout, we managed the project to achieve a challenging programme of 34 weeks. To provide safe segregation we constructed a temporary haul road around part of the school playing field and also constructed temporary screening at junctions with the existing school.
