Gipping successfully completed a new languages block (called the “Sister Building” because of its similarity to an adjacent building). All construction traffic was strictly controlled using the only road into the college shared with over 3000 students and teachers.
The new building was constructed immediately adjacent to a prominent section of the town’s Roman wall and the works included the installation of a temporary bridge across the remains of a Roman bath. The project required close collaboration between our site team, the archaeologists and the college.
Under a separate contract, we have also successfully refurbished the main student canteen, kitchen and boiler room in the original Victorian building.
