‘Gipping Construction is proud to be part of the industry’s resurgence of apprentices. While only a small cog in the system, we think we punch above our weight when it comes to providing opportunities for enthusiastic people to begin their career or develop new skills to allow them to progress further. We attained Investor in People accreditation in our first year of trading because it fitted with our ethos of encouraging our team to maximise their potential. Some of our former apprentices have gone on to senior positions in the business – which proves, when done well, apprenticeships can be hugely successful.
We currently have three apprentices, most recently, Sam Beer, who joined us last year and is doing multi-skills, but also Xena Partridge and Zac Land who are completing Degree and HNC courses respectively.
Collaboration with educationalists is vital, and it is pleasing that in recent months our region has seen a great deal of change in how FE and HE establishments and business are working together to help solve the skills shortage as well as provide career prospects for young people starting their career.
We have lots in store for 2025 regarding ongoing collaboration/partnering with colleges in our region which should only serve to stand our region on good stead in the future’.
