Our staff had a mammoth task judging the many entries into an art competition organised in collaboration with Ipswich Museum.
As part of our hashtag mammothmakeover and to brighten up the hoardings outside, entries into an art competition on the theme of Will.i.am the Woolly Mammoth and Rosie the Rhino, were invited from age groups ranging from under-fives to 18+ and also schools.
The first prize winners were voted for by Museum staff and a highly commended category were voted for by Gipping staff. Each winner was presented with a ‘mammoth’ prize, jointly sponsored by the Museum and Gipping. The schools category winners will receive a fossil handling visit by Museum staff.
The winners were presented with their prizes in front of the artwork display by Gipping site Manager, Nick Maslin, and Peter Garwood, representing the Ipswich Museum. All entries are now on display on the hoardings outside the Museum in High Street, Ipswich.
We were so impressed and delighted with the response which demonstrates the love for the museum and interest in its careful redevelopment.
The hashtag mammothmakeover campaign, flagged by our 8′ x 6′ banner on the side of the building, celebrates the funding received to enable to project to happen.
