Thanks to Julian Davies MCIOB for capturing these action shots of a recent concrete pour at our site in Hadleigh – conversion of the former Babergh District Council Offices to residential accommodation.
The works have included refurbishment of five listed buildings, the demolition of a former industrial building on Bridge Street and parts of a 1970’s office complex.
The listed buildings include a brick fronted, timber framed building, an early nineteenth century house, a redbrick Malthouse, a three bay red brick house and a timber framed cottage. Approximately two thirds of the Council Offices were located within a late 70’s, early 80’s extension, which, together with the listed buildings form a courtyard. The site also includes frontage to the River Brett and borders Hadleigh Cricket Club.
The site’s heritage is being carefully preserved and will provide unique features in what will be a highly desirable residential development.
