We love ending the week on a high note — and this is one we’re especially proud to share.
👩🎓 Gipping Quantity Surveyor, Xena Partridge, recently graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with a first-class honours degree in Quantity Surveying — an incredible achievement, and one we’re very proud to celebrate.
Xena’s journey into construction began while she was still at school. Keen to start building her career rather than attend college full-time, she explored the apprenticeship route — a decision that set her on a fantastic path. She began her apprenticeship with a rainwater goods company, attending City College Norwich one day a week while studying for BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering and the Built Environment. In January 2019, Xena joined Gipping Construction as a Management Trainee, gaining valuable experience across Contracts Management and Quantity Surveying. As her interest in Quantity Surveying grew, she completed an online HNC in Construction and the Built Environment in just eighteen months and was promoted to Assistant Quantity Surveyor in March 2021.
In 2022, Xena got married, and while continuing to build her career and progress her studies, she welcomed her son, Angus, in November 2024. Her hard work and dedication were recognised with a promotion to Quantity Surveyor, and she is now working towards CIOB membership.
Xena’s journey is a brilliant example of how apprenticeships can open the door to a successful career in construction. With determination, support and opportunity, the future for women in the industry is brighter than ever 🚀
