Gipping are delighted to have recently won the contract for two-phase refurbishment works to the Long shop Museum in Leiston, Suffolk, adding to our portfolio of work in the Heritage sector.
The Long Shop Museum preserves the industrial heritage of East Suffolk; from the manufacturing cathedral that is the Long Shop itself, to the stories of people whose skill turned a Suffolk coastal market town into a Victorian engineering powerhouse.
Refurbishment works have already commenced and include brickwork repairs, re-roofing, replacement rooflights, windows and doors, valley gutter works and internal works to the community hub. Externally there will be site-wide drainage re-modelling, new concrete to the Steam yard and new concrete ramps and steps.
