Last Thursday was handover day for Building One at our Hadleigh site for Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils.
The redevelopment of the former Babergh Council offices includes refurbishment of five listed buildings, demolition of a former industrial building and parts of a 1970s office complex.
Listed buildings include a brick fronted, timber framed building, an early 19th century house, a red brick Malthouse, a three bay red brick house and a timber framed cottage. Approximately two-thirds of the Council Offices were located within a late 70’s, early 80’s extension, which, together with the listed buildings, form a courtyard. The site includes frontage to the River Brett and borders Hadleigh CC.
Evidence of the site’s heritage has been carefully preserved, providing unique features in a highly desirable development.
The show flat, designed and furnished by John Lewis, looked stunning and really enhanced the beautiful period features of the building, which is part of the ‘Bowler’s Croft’ development, aptly named due to its location adjacent to Hadleigh Cricket Club.
