The final phase of our works at The Longshop Museum, Leiston, are almost complete.
We have carried out an extensive and sympathetic refurbishment of this nineteenth century work house, including repairs to brickwork, major roof timber repairs, strip-off and re-tiling of the main roof, new roof lanterns and roof lights, lead and copper work, gutters, new Crittall-style windows and decoration to all windows, doors and facias, all topped off with a newly refurbished weather vane which will give local residents an accurate direction of the coastal winds for years to come.
All works have been carried out to strict Heritage standards under the watchful eye of Helen Axworthy of RHP Architects and Stuart Armitage of The Morton Partnership Ltd, Structural Engineers.
Drone footage of the fully completed, cleaned, and polished buildings will follow as soon as the impressive scaffolding from CJB Scaffolding Ltd which has protected us from the elements, has been removed.
