Today it was enrichment day at Brentwood Ursuline Convent High School, where we are working on the construction of a new sixth-form block.
When Head Teacher, Dr Richard Wilkin, asked if we would be willing to give a series of talks to Year 11 students about the project, career opportunities for women in construction, and required skills and qualifications, we didn’t hesitate!
The enrichment day is designed to equip students with life skills, knowledge, and practical careers information. The six different student groups all demonstrated great enthusiasm, asking our Construction Director, Julian Davies MCIOB, a multitude of questions.
The day certainly sparked interest from future Quantity Surveyors, Contract Managers, Buyers, Project Managers and Tradespeople.
Well done, Julian and Site Manager, Mike Newman, for organising a rewarding day for the School.
