After months, or sometimes years of being constructed, renovated, restored or remodelled, it’s always gratifying to see occupants enjoying one of our completed projects.
The residents of Walden Place in Saffron Walden are no exception and really enjoyed using their beautifully light and bright communal living room.
The project, for Uttlesford District Council, included works to extend existing independent living accommodation to include new flats and communal facilities for the residents. This presented many technical and engineering challenges including extensive temporary works to form a new plant building and retaining wall.
There was also demolition of a link between an original period building, and the existing living accommodation as well as complicated re-routing of utilities.
The GCL team, headed by Site Manager, Steve James have worked hard to minimise disruption to residents, even supplying the cakes for weekly coffee mornings and hosting a Christmas gathering!
