Southwold House Flat Conversion for Caring Homes Group

“We employed Gipping Construction to act as the main contractor on a project at Southwold House, Leigh on Sea.  We converted part of the property to provide a further 4 flats to enhance the care service we offer under Consensus Group.  Southwold House specialises in residential support for people with learning disabilities and other associated complex needs.

The work conditions were extremely challenging with residents requiring 24 hour supervision.  The Gipping site team were sensitive to all of the residents individual needs and worked alongside the Care Home Manager, covering the logistics of working in live corridors, bedrooms and communal areas every day.

We found Gipping to be good communicators, keeping both ourselves and the Care Home Manager up to date with the programme and work areas.  No health and safety issues were compromised and Gipping completed the project to a good standard.  Caring Homes would be happy to recommend them for work in a live NHS building.”
