Paul Orriss

Joint Managing Director

Paul undertook his accountancy training with Whiting and Partners Chartered Accountants in Bury St Edmunds before moving into the construction industry in 1990. Originally working at Sturgeon Builders, Paul was one of the founding Directors and Shareholders of Gipping Construction in 2004.

Paul was the Financial Director of Gipping, taking on all aspects of the background running of the Company, from finance and legal through to H&S, facilities and HR. Paul was instrumental in setting the original company values of working with clients, suppliers, sub-contractors and employees to create a product that all stakeholders can be proud of, something that is still in place today and has led to 20 years of success for the Company. In 2016, following the retirement of Chris McEwen, Paul was appointed Joint Managing Director alongside Andy Laflin. During this time they have overseen the growth of the Company in both margin and turnover by over 50%. Under Paul and Andy’s joint directorship, Gipping became an employee owned trust in August 2023.

Paul is always approachable and willing to offer the benefit of his years of experience and knowledge gained in the industry, from an accounting point of view, to assist the supply chain with the evermore complex red tape that perpetuates the industry today.
