Zac joined Gipping as an Apprentice Carpenter in September, 2018 at the age of 16. He began his Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Site Carpentry (Construction) and NOCN Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations (Construction) Site Carpentry, which was completed in April, 2021 and has since achieved NOCN Level 3 Advanced Carpentry and Joinery, completed September, 2023.
Zac achieved BTEC HNC Level 4 Construction Quantity Surveying Technician qualification in June, 2025. He is currently working towards achieving his BSC Hons Degree in Quantity Surveying, due to complete in 2028.
Zac says: ‘I have enjoyed my journey through construction so far and have been fortunate enough to be taught by the best’.
He was runner up in the SJCC Apprentice of the Year in 2022 and won Suffolk New College Construction Apprentice of the Year in 2023. He has also worked on Amento in Newmarket, a contemporary new build home which won the RIBA Suffolk Craftsmanship Award, 2024.
