Works are well underway at the development of 60 houses at the former Tooks Bakery site in Bury Road, Ipswich, due for completion in Autumn.
This £10 million design and build scheme for Handford Homes (a development company set up by Ipswich Borough Council) will see the creation of 60 new 1-5 bedroom mixed-tenure properties which will be available for rent upon completion in Summer 2020, plus external works and infra-structure including road, parking and external works.
This will be the latest of many recent residential housing schemes for Gipping including developments of mix tenures for regional housing associations; a development of high-end uniquely designed prestige homes in Sudbourne to one-off bespoke projects for private clients.
We are always keen to promote and create employment in the local area and this project (only a few minutes from our office in Baylham) is an excellent platform to continue this strategy; working with the local authority and using Ipswich based Consultants and local sub-contractors we are working in the community, with the community for the community.
Gipping are always mindful to carry out the works with minimal disruption to the local area and residents, and are indeed keen to use the opportunity to engage with local businesses and education providers. To underpin this ethos, the project has been registered with the Considerate Constructors scheme which demonstrates our commitment to the local community and environment.
