Team Gipping (and our much-photographed banners) were recorded by the Tour of Britain cameras as the main peloton passed our Hadleigh site where we are redeveloping the former Babergh District Council offices to provide residential accommodation.
It was an amazing sight to watch as a large number of police motorcycles with blue lights first appeared, followed by the many support vehicles, the race leaders and a few minutes later, the peloton and even more support vehicles.
We had been approached by a Hadleigh resident who wanted to ensure the town gave a suitably colourful welcome to the cyclists as they rode through. We produced four different designs, all on the ‘Allez!’ theme, and had seven large banners printed and mounted on Heras fencing to line our part of the route.
The banners looked fantastic and attracted a lot of attention as well as being caught on film! The Suffolk leg of the Tour actually started next to another of our sites, Seashore Village in Felixstowe.
